Residential Care For Elderly People & Those With A Physical Disability

We provide residential care for 25 elderly people.

We provide 24-hour care and support for them.

Health & Care

At Glenbank we believe in continuity of care.

Wherever possible we ensure that residents can keep seeing their own doctor, whilst district nurses can visit the home every day.

Chiropodists, both NHS and private, visit Glenbank on request. We also have regular visiting opticians and dentists.

Other specialities such as physiotherapists and nutritionists can be arranged.

All medications are managed and dispensed by our local pharmacy working alongside our staff.

However, if residents wish to continue managing their own medicines we can usually accommodate this.

We believe that at Glenbank we have all the facilities that residents may need.

Our staff launder clothes daily if required in our onsite laundry.

There are toilets located throughout the home, several bedrooms have their own ensuite, as well especially adaptive bath and shower bedrooms.

We also have a hairdressing facility on site.

Glenbank has a passenger lift, two lounge dining rooms, and a conservatory.

Other facilities include wi-fi, several laptops for residents’ use, telephone points, plus an accessible garden and patio area.

Our Facilities

Activities

We aim to provide residents with all the activities they could want at Glenbank.

Activities on offer include quizzes, films, arts and crafts, armchair exercises, musical performances and reminisce sessions.

Full information is posted on the activities notice board located outside the dining room.

Our hairdresser attends every Friday. Residents can just come along with no need to book.

We also arrange regular trips out to various, interesting destinations, including Bury Market and even The Triangle Community Centre which is just across the road and serves lovely coffee and cake!

All of these are advertised on our notice board well in advance.

Family and friends are welcome to join in with any of the activities including trips out.

Glenbank also provides free broadband in every bedroom. We also have laptops that residents can use in their bedrooms.

If residents have never used a computer before, don’t worry as we can help them and show them how to use the internet. We can also show residents how to use WhatsApp in order to ‘face-time’ their relatives.

If residents would like to have a phone in their bedroom, please let us know and we can arrange for that to be installed.

Several of our residents use their own mobile phones instead – as these can be more convenient.

Our Rooms

Residents can personalize their bedrooms at Glenbank to suit their tastes.

Please feel free to bring pictures, furniture and any personal belongings to make your bedroom feel as homely as possible.

Our handyman will help set everything up for residents, just how residents like it.

Each bedroom has a nurse call point which can be used to summon assistance 24 hours a day.

All visits take place in residents’ bedrooms or in the conservatory.
